Spiral Jetty is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. One of the reasons it's amazing is because it is so perfectly of its context.
Generally, I prefer to allow everything to grow and change. But Spiral Jetty seems to need its context preserved in order to keep its meaning. I read it as a relationship between specifics: a landscape and a process and a person. It would be really sad to tinker with that lovely balance.
So, I'll be writing an email to support preserving the site surrounding Spiral Jetty before 7pm Eastern Time today and I will be sending that email to Johnathan Jemming: jjemming@utah.gov.
